Charlie Albone and Juliet Love team up with Mirvac to help transform Brisbane balconies

Alfresco living is a widely celebrated aspect of the Australian lifestyle and, with its tropical climate and sunny outlook, Queensland is the perfect place to make the most of outdoor entertaining.

Whether you’re happiest throwing a dinner party or prefer nothing more than a quiet drink watching the sun go down, your balcony offers the perfect space to enjoy your own city oasis.

Selling Houses Australia landscape designer, Charlie Albone, and his celebrity stylist wife Juliet Love, have teamed up with leading developer Mirvac to help Queenslanders create their ultimate outdoor space this Summer.

As part of the collaboration, Charlie will join Mirvac at an outdoor living showcase within the developer’s premier Unison at Waterfront sales suite on Saturday 28th February, where he will showcase his innovative balcony design and be on hand to talk to guests and offer his top landscaping tips.

Forming the third stage of the Waterfront, Newstead precinct, Unison boasts balconies which are larger than the majority of new apartment developments.  The expansive outdoor spaces are ideal for creating your own exclusive riverside retreat.  Charlie will showcase how to maximise the space on offer at Unison and truly embrace indoor/outdoor living.

The celebrity landscaper said drawing inspiration from your surroundings is a great start when designing your indoor/outdoor living area.

“Many plants thrive in subtropical climates allowing more creativity when choosing how to style your garden,” said Charlie on garden design.

“If you love the idea of a tropical oasis on your doorstep then think about scale and impact. Start with some big bold foliage plants and complement them with some bursts of colour.

“Finally, introduce a few scented plants to really enhance the 'getaway' feeling.”
